Predictable & consistent working hours

The hours of work are more predictable than other health environments. While unexpected emergencies will happen, most days you’ll end your shift as planned. 


Most centres are closed on weekends and operate weekdays between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Some wards are 24/7.

Day-to-day as a Medical Officer

You'll be at the forefront of primary care for Defence members, playing a pivotal role in their health and readiness.


As part of a multidisciplinary team, your duties include assessing fitness for duty, providing comprehensive care before and after deployment, and when required, working across both outpatient or inpatient settings.


This diverse role is essential in supporting the wellbeing of our Defence members.
