Currently seeking part time Dental Assistant to join our dental team at Oakey Health Centre. In this role you will be working 100% chairside 2 days per week, assisting our Dentists in providing dental services to the Australian Defence Personnel.

 

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Providing assistance to Dentists
  • Implementing infection control procedures within the dental surgery in accordance with National Standards and Defence Policies and Procedures
  • Managing patients in accordance with approved protocols
  • Maintaining optimal hygiene and cleanliness of the dental surgery managing patient clinical records, filing of hard copy reports, booking and recall of patients
  • Participating in governance and quality improvement activities including clinical reviews, health surveillance and auditing

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) chair-side dental assisting experience with at least 2 years full-time equivalent within the last 5 years
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification

 

About Oakey Health Centre
Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC) 3km outside Oakey.  It is the training area for Australian Army Aviation and is home to the 126 Squadron (Cougar helicopters) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force.  With approximately 500 members, the health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical and mental health services.  It is also an emergency response to AAC. Health centre staff may be required to work across Cabarlah & Oakey. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements will determine shift lengths).

 

Please note:

You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
