The role of the Linen Assistant is to monitor, distribute and collect clean and used Linen across the site. The role helps to ensure that Linen stock levels are always maintained for uninterrupted clinical use. The role will support the coordination, supply and collection of Clean and Used Linen stock levels to and from distribution locations and collection points within the hospital, and to and from the external laundry service provider.
The role will require you to operate in different areas of the hospital. 
Make a real difference in patient care by ensuring a seamless supply of clean linen throughout the hospital. 

 

As a Linen Assistant, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Operating linen service equipment to distribute and collect linen
  • Ensuring buffer stock is supplied and recorded within agreed timeframes
  • Monitoring and reporting on linen stock levels and usage
  • Supporting emergency linen supplies and maintaining stock levels
  • Assisting with linen audits and quality checks
  • Providing assistance to clinical staff in a friendly and professional manner

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large healthcare organisation
  • Experience or knowledge in maintaining accurate records
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining effective work output
  • A commitment to workplace health, safety, and infection control practices
  • Experience working with manual handling equipment (example electric Pallet jacks) is highly desirable.
