As a Psychologist
, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of ADF personnel
. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
, you’ll have the opportunity to provide diverse and meaningful mental health care
across a wide range of cases.
Your role will involve:
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments
- Delivering evidence-based psychological interventions
- Managing crisis presentations, risk assessments, and risk management planning
- Overseeing case management for both internal and externally referred cases
- Collaborating with medical and command teams to ensure holistic care
About ACT Health Centre
You’ll be based at the ACT Health Centre , a large, modern facility that opened in 2021 . Located in a key Defence hub, the centre services approximately 7,000 military personnel , including trainee officers from the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) and Royal Military College .
This state-of-the-art health centre provides a wide range of medical services, including:
- Primary medical care
- Aviation & underwater medical services
- Nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical, and physiotherapy services
- A 24-bed low dependency ward operating 24/7
The ACT Health Centre operates Monday to Friday (0700-1630)
, with specific roles requiring weekend and on-call shifts
.
Serco is a place for you
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Australian Citizenship – required to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
- Unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in mental health within a primary or specialist setting
- Experience delivering evidence-based focused psychological strategies under the Medicare Schedule
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
